ORG AGR will inform all participants that only pedigrees will be accepted until October 20, 2020, by email golden.race.algarve@gmail.com, because due to the hard work we have with organizing all pedigrees, photos and ratings of about 200 pigeons per week, to send to the sales website, www.ipe-auctions.be  we are not able to check every day if more pedigrees have arrived, as they are sent by email, by whatsaap, by facebook, by message, and many times with the auctions already taking place. We are sorry, but all participants had about 5 months to send the pigeons’ pedigrees.

5 days after the final release of Bragança, ORG AGR informs that all prizes won by participants will be placed in personal accounts in the next 2 days.

Thus, winning participants may request their payment by sending IBAN from the bank account, under the conditions set out in the 2020 regulation:

- Portuguese participants must send to AGR email-  golden.race.algarve@gmail.com  , the full name, address and VAT number for payment of 25% tax and prize

- Foreign participants, residing outside Portugal, are exempt from paying 25% tax, but have to send to the agent in their country, or to the AGR, to the email,  golden.race.algarve@gmail.com  , the document proving fiscal address in  country out Portugal, european paper doc model- 21 RFI , and name , and IBAN bank account to prize payment.

- We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the Golden Race Algarve is a legalized derby, and is frequently audited, having to comply with the Portuguese and European law.

12/09 / 2020- INFO – SEMI FINAL ALGARVE GOLDEN RACE 2020- CASTELO BRANCO

Yesterday the semi-fine Algarve Golden Race 2020 took place, with a release in Castelo Branco, 297 km, with the arrival yesterday of about 50% of the pigeons sent, which deserved us  an analysis of the low number of pigeons arrived on the first day and we found that due the high temperatures that happened in the Alentejo area, starting at 10 am, and about 100/150 km from the loft, and with the dams and lakes existing in that region, made the pigeons land to drink and some got up and others they stayed, having seen the arrival of many pigeons today, which means that the pigeons are well and in good health, because if they were not, they would not return to the loft.

We will now make a good recovery for the pigeons so that they are prepared for the final that takes place on September 26, 2020, and we are sorry for those who cannot go to the final, and we wish luck to all who participate.

In 2010 the entrepreneurs Dr. Vincent Schroeder (Schroeder Pigeon Products) and Johannes Jakobs (Tollisan) merged and they founded the veterinary practice and racing pigeon company Vet-Schroeder + Tollisan BV, Kerkrade (Netherlands).

The earlier practice of Dr. Schroeder in Bilzen (Belgium) additionally continued to operate.

On our website you will find information about our new veterinary practice in Kerkrade, our pigeon products and a matching care plan and feed programme. The medical health check is a very important aspect in modern and success-orientated pigeon racing. The Vet-Schroeder + Tollisan products are free of drugs and manufactured as per GMP quality standards. Which provides you with the assurance you are providing quality products for your racing pigeons.

The professional expertise and practical experience of the racing pigeon specialists Dr. Vincent Schroeder and Johannes Jakobs, plus our products, will be a key to success for you.

Dr. Vincent Schroeder is from a family of racing pigeon breeders and successfully competes with his father at long distance races. In 1994 he began his studies at the University of Liege.

In 2000 he received his degree as a doctor of veterinary medicine. Subsequent to this he worked for a further two years in a laboratory for veterinary medicine, whereby he acquired important skills in dealing with various laboratory techniques in the fields of bacteriology and mycology. Today, these laboratory years are proving to be of great benefit in diagnosis.

In 2002 a cooperation started with veterinarian Dr. Peeters, Belgium. The cooperation lasted for four years and a wealth of knowledge in regard to racing pigeon care and racing pigeon medicine was learnt from the legendary Dr. Peeters.

In 2006 the move was made to self-employment and a racing pigeon practice opened in Bilzen (Belgium).

Johannes Jakobs also originates from a racing pigeon family. His grandfather raced pigeons to Budapest and his father also raced them to St. Pölten. Over the last 10 years Johannes Jakobs has built a reputation as one of the most prominent pigeon fanciers in Germany. Outstanding achievements in one of the largest regional associations in Germany, namely the Regional Association of Aachen-Land 415, have brought his name to the forefront.

By profession, Johannes Jakobs is a trained bank official. However, for some 15 years he was employed as a Sales Director in the pharmaceutical industry and, for several of those years, dealt with veterinarians. There is not a powder or liquide mixture unknown to him. In 2001, with the purchase of Tollisan, he took the path of self-employment within the racing pigeon sport. The distribution of Dosto-Oregano products and the PS Prange soup were further steps in the development of the brand name Tollisan.

All products were further improved in the lost two years. Just good is not enough. Our aim is to constantly improve our products. The world never stands still, and neither will the Vet-Schroeder-Tollisan team. We strive to constantly improve every aspect of our actions in terms of our products, our customers and the racing pigeons.

The fact that we were able to take over the operation of Sedochol Plus from a world-wide leading company in the veterinary drug industry such as Merial, shows that we are on the right path.

DF 3000 by Dostofarm, o product for the disinfection of drinking water in the transportation unit, is described in-depth in the inner part of the brochure. For years, water hygiene in the transportation units has not been given sufficient attention.

Dosto-Oregano – Always ahead of the competition. Our new Dosto-Oregano liquid, case and powder products contain new, higher active ingredient concentrations due to additional essential oils for healthy air passages.

Due to the increase demand for probiotic, we have agreed with the market leader Dr. Brockamp to ditribute Probac 1000. With its formula based upon pigeon specific intestinal bacteria Probac 1000 is ideally suited to regenerate in intestinal flora after medication or ill health. 1gram of Probac 1000 contains over 1.5 billion bacteria endemic to the pigeon capable of colony establishment in the small intestine.

Our new product pH-Control contains both acetic acid and formic acid, natural inhibitors of pathogenic bacteria. Although similar products exist, the main difference to many similar products is pH-Control contains buffered acids so that they remain active in the intestinal tract.

We have been analyzing, throughout the week, together with our meteorologist, the weather conditions for the next 2020 race, Portalegre, and all forecasts indicate high temperatures for the next few days.

So, taking into account our idea, since always, that we will only release pigeons if they are able to return home, and analyzing the temperatures forecast for the next days, we found that Friday, September 4, 2020, will be the best day for running, although the minimum temperatures are high, around 20º, and the highest temperatures, around 36º, with a humidity between 25 and 30%, temperatures that are maintained for the next days.

So, and considering that these values are indicators of flight difficulties, we are going to collaborate with the meteorologist, tonight to analyze new meteorological models and forecasts that will be known more accurately, to decide the place of release, eliminating places with fog forecast. in the morning, as we have to release the pigeons early, to be in the loft at around 10 AM, as it is from that time that a progressive increase in temperature will occur.

So the next race will be tomorrow Friday, September 4th, and the basketing will be tonight.

ORG AGR reports that the first official 2020 training scheduled for today was canceled due to the fog, and although we looked for other alternative locations, all had fog, and with the advance of the hour, the temperature is increasing, and are expected 35 º at 1 PM, we consider that it would be a very big risk, that could lead to great losses of pigeons. So we will analyze the weather for the next few days and inform the date of the race.

18/08/2020- INFO ABOUT FIRST PIGEON ACE RACE 2020

After contact with the official meteorologist Golden Race Algarve, the release scheduled for Azaruja 170km, will take place in Vila Boim 185 km, due to tomorrow Wednesday low clouds and low visibility in the morning in the Azaruja area, and the area of Vila Boim only has high clouds, with better visibility, and as it is expected tomorrow a maximum temperature of 35 degrees from 1 PM we have to release the pigeons early.

18/08/2020- INFO- ACE PIGEON WINNER 2019

Tomorrow the official competitions that count for the Ace 2020 pigeon will start, with release scheduled for Azaruja, and about 80% of the pigeons entered will participate in the first official race, after a period of quarantine, vaccination, preventive treatments, habituation to the area with the first flights around the loft, and 8 training sessions from 5 to 145 km. So we wish everyone good luck for the next races, and we are sorry for those pigeons that failed to reach this stage, but we gave everyone the same conditions to do so.

As in previous years, the AGR Organization, in partnership with FIAAL-FORD, owned by Mr. Aníbal Guerreiro,  will be in dispute for the winner of the ACE PIGEON 2019 , a FORD FIESTA  or € 10,000)

 ACE PIGEON- WINNER PIGEON – 1 CAR (drive on left side)  or €10,000

All birds will participate (birds 1-2 and 2 reserve) in 4 races and the reserve in the final race GOLDEN RACE if activated, or if  replace a active pigeon . The person who activate a pigeon reserve for the final, will  have all rights over the pigeon, premiums and percentage of sale.

Reserve pigeons will only qualify for Ace Pigeon classification if they participate in the final race (i.e. if they replace an entered pigeon or is active on or before 18^th September).

The winner will be the pigeon in which the sum of the average velocity in the 5 Races Ace Pigeon, Azaruja, Monforte, Portalegre, Castelo Branco and final race Bragança, is greater.- To win the Ace Pigeon, the pigeon has to classify in all the Ace Pigeon races (5). If it is not possible realize some race to count for Ace pigeon, to find the winner count the races held.

To win the Ace Pigeon, the pigeon has to classify in all the Ace Pigeons races held.

In the event of a tie after completion of the 5 races, the pigeon with the highest placing in the final race will be the Ace Pigeon.

Because the classification is calculated on average velocity it requires careful checking of the liberation co-ordinates which will be verified by an electronic GPS device.

- RACE TIME in the first 4 races (Azaruja, Monforte, Portalegre and Castelo Branco) for the classification of ACE PIGEON ends after closing the Race in the BENZING system, at least 5 hours  after the arrival time of the first pigeon and by discounting dead hours (night, if applicable).

- RACE TIME in the  final race (Bragança), )  the Ace Pigeon classification finishes after closing of the race in the BENZING system, at least 8 hours after the arrival of the first pigeon, discounting dead hours, ( night, if applicable)

The release scheduled for Évora from the 8th training  2020, scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday, August 12th, was changed to Thursday, August 13th, due to the great fog that happens in the release zone and surroundings, with very low cloudes, not allowing visibility for the pigeons to orient themselves , and as Thursday only high clouds and good visibility are expected, Org AGR, in agreement with the official meteorologist, decided to make the change for Thursday.

Org AGR comes to inform you that the training scheduled for tomorrow Thursday, July 30th has been changed to Friday, July 31, as last Tuesday’s training has become a very hard training for many of the pigeons, with many hours of flight, because due to the cloudy sky and strong wind, the pigeons still have no experience, many arrived late, and are not in conditions to be basketed today, so we will give another day of rest and recovery to the pigeons.

After this morning the whole area of the loft and the Algarve mountainS  were completely covered with low clouds, which made it difficult for the pigeons to fly in the morning, as there was little visibility, we contacted the official meteorologist Golden Race, and we were informed that tomorrow Wednesday the 22nd would be the same, and that on Thursday the 23rd there would be no fog, so Org AGR decided to change the training scheduled for tomorrow with release in Azinhal, to Thursday July 23 and the scheduled for Friday 24, will take place on Saturday 25th.

List pigeons that are in the loft prepared for the start of training on Monday 20 June 2020.

After entering the loft, the pigeons were subjected to a quarantine period, and some treatments were administered, and they were vaccinated.

After these periods they started to leave the loft, and 2 weeks later they were flying in a flock around the loft, being now prepared for the training and  races  of the 2020 edition of the Golden Race Algarve. Good luck to all participants

In the next week we will start putting on electronic benzing chips, and the first training is scheduled for July 20th.

The pigeons after the quarantine period where they took the vaccines and some preventive treatments, are now flying daily around the loft, having also a few days of relaxation, because until September 26th they expect a lot of work.

In the next week all new participants will receive the key to access their personal page, where they can see the information about the pigeons.

Participants who already have a personal account in the next week can check their personal page as the pigeons with the respective codes will be introduced.

Payments will be entered on the personal page within 2 weeks.

The State of Emergency ended in Portugal on 2 May yesterday, and so we will start again with the pigeon collections for the 2020 edition. We have air transport in the coming weeks from various countries in Europe. 7/4/2020- TRANSPORT PIGEONS TO GOLDEN RACE ALGARVE 2020

- The Golden Race organization reports that the loft is open to the entrance of pigeons, and that we adapted all the security measures imposed by the health authorities due to the corona virus .

We inform too  that due to the difficulty in arranging flights to send the pigeons by air transport for the 2020 edition in April,  we will do a transport by truck transport pigeons,  that will take place on the next 28/29 April,  that passes through the following countries, Holland, Germany, Belgium and France.

15/3/2020- ENTRY PIGEONS IN GOLDEN RACE ALGARVE 2020

From the 1st to the 15th of March, pigeons from several countries entered the loft, and as stated in the Regulation in which the entries are from 1 to 15 of the months of March, April and May, the ORGANIZATION will inform you that the loft is closed to enter and out (from auctions)  pigeons in the next 3 weeks, as a preventive measure due to the corona virus. We also inform you that it is not possible to visit the loft during this period, as entry  is only allowed to the pigeon loft persons.

1/3/2020- GOLDEN RACE ALGARVE 2020- IS STARTING

Golden Race Algarve 2020 is starting, and as in the previous 5 years, when we have always had more than 5000 pigeons, in which more than 60% of the entries have been made to the final (average of the last 5 years), when there were no cuts in premiums, and payments were made 15 days after the final, and also the largest number of pigeons in an OLRace in Europe and one of the largest in the world, and the bigger prize money payed in Europe, so  we think that this result is in line with the work that the entire Golden Race team has been doing, serious, transparent and competent work, work focused on pigeons and pigeons, as only a competent job deserves the trust of so many pigeons fanciers, and now we are ready for the 2020 edition.

Of course, in an OLR with so many pigeons and participants there is always something to improve, and that is our goal year after year, both in the loft and in the administrative part. In the administrative part, we call on all participants to send the pedigrees together with the pigeons so that they can be digitalized immediately and be ready for the auctions, and the titles of ownership of the pigeons, since those who do not have title to the property must ask for a duplicate ( € 2 each) to the Portuguese Columbophilia Federation.

 WE THINK THE WAY TO SUCCESS IN AN OLRACE IS:

- SEND GOOD PIGEONS

- VACCINATE ALL PIGEONS MINIMUM 20 DAYS BEFORE SHIPPING.

- SEND PIGEONS WITH 45 TO 60 DAYS

- Try it in the coming years and check that we are right.

 

GOLDEN RACE ALGARVE 2020, receives pigeons:

- 1 to 15 March

- 1st to 15th April

- 1st to 15th of May

After entering in  the loft, pigeons are subjected to a period of quarantine, preventive treatments, vaccination, and a period of habituation to the loft and the area, to the first training sessions around the loft, and for 6 official training, and 5 races, which end with the final on 26 September in Bragança, 505 km.
